6:30pm dinner, 7:30pm service, 8:30pm Music
PW solo show!
48 Shelter Rock Road, Manhasset, NY 11030
This is a pleasant evening at Shelter Valley Unitarian Universalist Church. It begins with a dinner (6:30) and a Unitarian Universalist service (7:30pm), before my concert begins (8:30pm).
Of course, you're welcome to come for whatever part of it suits your inclinations best.
I will say that, through my work with Brother Sun, I - a refugee from organized religion in all its forms - have felt very much at home in Unitarian Universalist settings, which I now work in quite a bit. Unitarian Universalism is a creed-less religion ("Deeds, not creeds") - that is, there is no set of beliefs, no doctrine that participants are expected to subscribe to. That suits someone like me, who has a set of ethical values, and tries to practice them, without being motivated by a set of religious beliefs. My unorthodox and ever-evolving ideas about the universe, spirit, and divinity don't exclude me from the inclusive big tent of the UU approach. All of which is to say, if you have any curiosity about it, please come to the service part of the evening too. I'll certainly be there.
